Will we stay?

There has been quite alot of hubbub going around the internet community as to whether Brent and Kevin will call it quits. Maybe. Maybe not. We’re actually talking about it right now.

Not much going on….

Well, another post to the Talk About It site is going up.  Life is so crazy.  I think Kevin and I have both had hopes that we would be able to put more content on the site, but things, at least for me, seem to have been so hectic lately.  On my own I have done some more work with video creation in combination with YouTube.  I figured out a couple of things (these are in no particular order), especially after my wife watched our video….which I thought I had told her about, but I got to see her reaction first hand.

  1. Kevin and I are somewhat humorous
  2. A good microphone makes alot of difference
  3. My lips look really red on camera
  4. I need to lose some weight
  5. I use the word "like" way too much
  6. We can do a two or even three part show

In conclusion, Talk About It with Brent and Kevin will go on….we’re just getting started….

My Work

Well until we get a show up I thought I’d show you where I spend most of day.  You might need to turn the volume up.

Microsoft may have made my life just a little easier….

I’m writing this entry with the new Windows Live Writer…a new tool exclusively for creating blogposts.  If this works, then they just made my life a little easier.  I am a computer nerd, granted, but I love homogenous enviroments.  I hate having to learn new command sets or new menus or stuff like that…I really hope that this post looks good.  This is the first test which is just text.

Talking About It is hard work….

This is Brent…I want to apolgize to our most loyal fans for not being very consistent in output of shows. Between everything going on in mine and Kevin’s lives right now, I’m surprised we have time to even get on the computer….or maybe I’m just the one that is really busy. Anyway…I’m looking forward to the new year and things calming down a little bit. This year was fun for Talk About It, as we learned quite alot about podcasting, recording and publishing. We hope to make next year better, more entertaining, and especially more consistent. Thanks for listening, and if you haven’t listened yet, there’s plenty of shows to catch up on!

If you could, take a look at our youtube show. We’re debating about whether to stick with audio or go to a video format. Let us know what you think.

The Times they are a-changin

I just finished my 5th week of my new job (when is it now “new” anymore?)….for those of you that didn’t know, I got a new job. (Oh, and a big thanks to all of you who kept me in your prayers concerning this). I now work for a company called Hafele. It’s German. It’s big but not too big, it’s corporate enough that I don’t know everyone, but I still know where everyone sits (except for the people in NY, LA, San Fran, Chicago, and Canada).

Changes are sweeping through my life. I am naturally resistant to change. Anything new as my wife will tell you is a fight for me to embrace, except for technology. New habits, new ways of doing things, dying to old habits, breaking patterns I’m used to. Why is that? Continue reading ‘The Times they are a-changin’

Help! I’m a Hoarder

No DumpingEver since our first podcast, The Culture of the Offended, I have really been tuned in when I read stories or see shows on TV that seem to take political correctness to the extreme. I was flipping through the channels the other night when I came across a show on TLC called “Help! I’m a Hoarder”. I only watched for a few minutes, but I saw enough to get the idea. There were several people, some couples, who’s houses were total and absolute wrecks. According to the show, and the “experts” Continue reading ‘Help! I’m a Hoarder’

Immigrants I’ve met….

I’ve always been a die hard Republican…if there would have been a way for Reagan to serve a lifetime term as president, then I would have said go for it. I supported both initiatives in Iraq. I think George W. Bush is a man caught between a rock and hard place - being the Christian he says he is, and being a politician - I wouldn’t want the job of President, especially in modern times. But I have to say that on all issues that I have agreed with Pres. Bush, there’s one I disagree with - Immigration. Continue reading ‘Immigrants I’ve met….’

I don’t hate dogs.

clifford_325.jpg
Just as a closure to the Animals in Houses discussion….I like dogs, just not in MY house. If you have a dog in your house, I don’t think less of you. That’s why this is America, we have the freedom to have an animal in our homes. I have some good friends with a dog in the house and you wouldn’t even know it was there. The difference with them is that they kept their dog in check and reminded it that they were the master and don’t just let it do whatever and wherever it wants to. I want to have a dog later, just with some acreage for it run around on, and wear itself out, so I don’t have to.
